One of the major downsides of rapid technological change and the expansion of the internet is that they may lead to growing security threats and challenges in the future. Cyber terrorism and cyber criminality may gain more ground in the years to come, which may further compromise security in countries and regions with an already fragile security situation. Iraq is one of the countries that have grappled with deteriorated security conditions for many years. The country is currently in a stabilization phase during which its Security Sector Reform (SSR) efforts require considerable support, lest the country slips back into chaos. As part of its mission to support countries in the region in their Security Sector Reform (SSR) efforts, GS-Foundation is organizing a workshop to support Iraqis and transfer the knowledge and skills necessary to counter malicious actors such as terrorists and criminals on the internet using state-of-the-art approaches.
