Biometric Innovation and Public Security: Moldovan Delegation Visits Thales in Bucharest

In late March, a delegation from the Republic of Moldova – including representatives from the National Police, Border Police, and other internal security bodies – took part in a two-day workshop hosted by Thales in Bucharest.

The focus was on practical applications of biometric technologies that could support Moldova’s digital transformation in internal affairs. Key topics included:

  • Digital fingerprinting using LiveScan
  • Mobile biometric identification (MBI) in the field
  • Automated forensic analysis with CABIS
  • Integration of existing systems with European platforms

Beyond technology, the workshop enabled discussion on operational needs, implementation paths, and regional cooperation.

The GS-Foundation was pleased to support the participation of our Moldovan partners – helping foster dialogue on the future of public security and digital identity systems.
