It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Stefan Feller, our Chief Operating Officer and a cherished member of the GS-Foundation. Stefan’s life was dedicated to public service and the pursuit of peace, justice, and human rights. He brought not only his vast experience but also an inspiring commitment and humanity to his work with us.

Stefan’s career was marked by notable accomplishments in international service, including his work with the United Nations as a Police Advisor. In that role, he focused on fostering stability and protecting human rights in conflict-prone regions. His expertise and leadership profoundly shaped global peacekeeping and policing efforts, and he became known as a trusted leader and ally to many on the ground.

Stefan Feller was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2021, recognizing his longstanding dedication to crisis prevention, mediation, peacekeeping, and the promotion of the rule of law.

At the GS-Foundation, Stefan continued to pursue these ideals as our COO. His leadership here was defined by his vision, strategic guidance, and a relentless dedication to creating a more just and equitable world. Stefan played an integral role in expanding our initiatives and deepening the impact of our mission. His presence within our team was both grounding and uplifting—he was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to us all. His depth of character, warmth, and belief in the power of empathy brought light to every meeting, every project, and every challenge.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Stefan’s family and loved ones during this time of great loss. His legacy will live on in the work we carry forward, inspired by his life’s mission.
