From forensic technology and EOD robotics to gender-focused reform: the German Embassy and GFFO delegation explored how GS-Foundation initiatives are strengthening Moldova’s police services.

One week ago, GS-Foundation and Gender Associations officially handed over a new facilitator’s guide on gender-responsive policing to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs. The guide supports inclusive, rights-based police work and builds on previous training initiatives in the country.

We are excited to announce the expanded partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs Moldova (MIA). Through the signing of a new cooperation agreement, we are taking a significant step towards building a more efficient, open, and citizen-oriented security sector in the Republic of Moldova.

With a joint workshop in Chișinău, the GS-Foundation and the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have officially launched a groundbreaking project. The goal: to gather, consolidate and expand the Moldovan drone expertise of all institutions, with the possibility of establishing a drone competence centre in the future, subject to a political decision.

In late March, a delegation from the Republic of Moldova – including representatives from the National Police, Border Police, and other internal security bodies – took part in a two-day workshop hosted by Thales in Bucharest.

A delegation from the Republic of Moldova conducted a study visit to Podgorica, Montenegro, focused on sharing practices in the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325. The visit was supported by the Gender Association and the Embassy of Montenegro in Bucharest and the GS-Foundation.

As part of ongoing international collaboration, one of our February highlights was a specialized training program conducted with the Moldovan General Police Inspectorate in Chișinău. The focus of the training was on the operational use of an advanced robotic system designed for technical-explosive scenarios.
