The GS-Foundation, with funding from the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, has provided the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova (MIA) with 81 unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and complementary equipment as part of the project “Strengthening Security and Administrative Capacities within the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.

To mark International Father’s Day, a special event was held in the pilot region of Ștefan Vodă under the motto “Dad at the border – hero at home” (𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐥𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚̆ – 𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮 𝐬̦𝐢 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐚̆). The initiative was aimed at members of the border police and their families, and highlighted the importance of family values and the active role fathers play in their children’s lives.

The General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova has launched a comprehensive institutional evaluation aimed at strengthening organisational effectiveness and supporting the continued modernisation of the country’s police service. The initiative is being implemented with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and the GS-Foundation.

On 10 June 2026, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova celebrated its 34th anniversary. The annual occasion is dedicated to recognising the achievements of the institution and its personnel, while also highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing current and future security challenges.

On 22 May, Dr Susanne Greiter represented the GS-Foundation at the round table discussion on “Gender-sensitive border management and inclusive security: operational challenges, good practices and European standards” in Chișinău, Moldova.

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova officially received a new set of equipment from the GS-Foundation during a handover ceremony held in Chișinău.
The event brought together representatives of the Border Police and the GS-Foundation to review the achievements of their ongoing cooperation and discuss future opportunities for collaboration.

From 19 to 22 May 2026, a delegation from the General Police Inspectorate (GPI) of Moldova, together with staff from the GS-Foundation, took part in GPEC – the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference – in Leipzig.

On 11 May 2026, the GS-Foundation (GS-F) took part in a joint working group on drone operations, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova (MIA). Various sub-units of the Ministry took part in the event, including police services as well as operational and emergency services.

In April and May 2026, two specialist capacity-building workshops were held, bringing together representatives of Moldovan institutions working in the fields of civil protection and border management. The aim of the events was to strengthen project coordination, monitoring mechanisms and institutional preparedness in the context of European funding opportunities and the implementation of INTERREG projects.

BSDA 2026 – the Black Sea Defence, Aerospace and Security Exhibition – took place in Bucharest, Romania, from 13 to 15 May 2026. . This international trade fair is one of the most significant events in the defence, aerospace and security sectors in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together companies, government agencies, military delegations and technology providers from around the world.
The GS-Foundation was also represented at the event alongside a delegation from Moldova.
