At the end of January, as part of the ongoing Police Reform Project with Colombia, the Freiburg Police had the honor of conducting a five-day leadership seminar for the Policía Nacional de Colombia. The seminar was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of key leadership principles, focusing on values-based leadership, change management, and the importance of communication in policing.
During the seminar, they explored essential questions such as:
- What defines effective leadership in law enforcement?
- How can structured communication enhance trust and collaboration within teams and with the community?
- What role does coaching play in modern policing, and how can it foster professional growth and collaboration?
Through a mix of workshops, discussions, and case studies, participants had the opportunity to reflect on their leadership styles, engage in EFQM-based assessments, and practice collegial case consultations. This comprehensive approach provided valuable insights into how leadership shapes police work and its broader impact on society.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Freiburg Police and to all the members of the Policía Nacional de Colombia for their dedication and commitment to advancing leadership within their ranks.
