Last week in Kyiv, the GS- Foundation, in collaboration with Gender Associations International Consulting, successfully conducted the first of 21 two-day Sexual Harassment Trainings for police officers of the National Police of Ukraine. This intensive seminar focused on addressing sexual harassment as an administrative offence under Article 173-7 of the Ukrainian Code of Administrative Offences.
The training was designed to equip officers with essential knowledge on how to respond to, document, and prevent sexual harassment. Participants explored the legal framework surrounding the offence, discussed the organizational and psychological aspects of prevention, and practiced developing protocols to ensure effective evidence gathering. As one of 21 scheduled trainings expected to reach over 550 officers nationwide, this session marks a significant step toward modernizing policing practices in Ukraine. This initiative supports Ukraine’s legislative reforms and aligns with international standards such as the Istanbul Convention.
Conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine under the EQUALFORCE project funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, our training reinforces the commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
