Together4Home Affairs Council: Moldova Strengthens Institutional Resilience in Internal Affairs

Daniella Misail-Nichitin, Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova, delivers a speech at the Ukraine Together Home Affairs Council in Moldova.

Moldova’s internal affairs sector is moving from crisis management towards long-term institutional resilience. This transition framed the Together4Home Affairs Council meeting held on 21 January 2026 at the Stefan cel Mare Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chișinău.

The meeting brought together the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ambassadors, and international partners to take stock of progress achieved between 2022 and 2025 and to take note of priorities for the next phase of cooperation.

Presentations focused on strengthening institutional resilience and sustainability, improving coordination among international partners, and further aligning Moldova’s internal affairs sector with European Union standards. Particular attention was given to ensuring continuity of reforms and embedding capabilities developed in recent years into long-term institutional structures.

The networking reception following the meeting was supported by the GS-Foundation within the project “Supporting Moldova’s Ministry of Internal Affairs in Capacity Building and Establishing a National Drone Competence Centre”, implemented on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office. Through this engagement, the GS-Foundation contributes to building institutional capabilities and strengthening cooperation in Moldova’s internal affairs sector.

The GS-Foundation was represented at the meeting by Dr. Susanne Greiter and Dr. Volker Jacoby.
