A delegation of the Federal Foreign Office led by team leader Tobias Grothe visited our project team in Abuja and got informed about the progress of the project so far in the implementation of the national police reform.

The individual activities of the project and further planning were discussed in talks with UNDP, the Nigerian police, NGOs and Porto. The delegation was received by Mohammed Yahya, UNDP Representative for Nigeria at the UN House, after which discussions continued within the PORTO premises. Our Senior Experts Gerd Baltes and Wolfang Nikolaus presented the activities of the GS Foundation since 2021.

All partners underlined the need for police reform and thanked the GS Foundation for the support they provided in establishing PORTO. Our team works together with UNDP Nigeria and PORTO on the basis of open and trusting cooperation in order to implement the agreed reforms in the best possible way. The lighthouse project is to be continued in 2024.
