The Presidential Working Group on the police reform, that will work closely with the Office of the Chief of Staff of the President, was inaugurated today. The GS Foundation will be a member of this Working Group in pursuit of advising on the implementation of the Presidential Strategy “A New Vision for Policing in Nigeria – Framework for the Presidential Police Reform Roadmap”. This Strategy is a direct response to rising conflicts, insecurity, and armed violence in the country. It aims at transforming the Nigerian Police into an accountable police service enjoying the public’s trust and confidence as detailed in the Police Act 2020.
