On 10 June 2026, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova celebrated its 34th anniversary. The annual occasion is dedicated to recognising the achievements of the institution and its personnel, while also highlighting the importance of international cooperation in addressing current and future security challenges.

This year’s celebrations were held under the motto “34 years – 34 steps forward”, reflecting the organisation’s continuous development and progress since its establishment in 1992.

The GS-Foundation was honoured to participate in the anniversary events through an official delegation and to join partners and stakeholders from Moldova and abroad in celebrating this important milestone.

International Forum Focuses on Future Challenges

The anniversary programme commenced on 9 June with the international forum “Border Security – Institutional Consolidation for Future Challenges”.

The forum brought together representatives from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia, as well as international experts in border management and security. Discussions focused on the evolving security environment, institutional resilience and the importance of international cooperation in strengthening border protection capabilities.

The event provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences, sharing best practices and discussing future approaches to border security in the region.

Recognition for the Drone Laboratory

A particularly encouraging moment for the GS-Foundation was the positive recognition of the Drone Laboratory of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova.

During the forum and anniversary events, the laboratory was highlighted as an important contribution to the modernisation of border management and the enhancement of operational capabilities. The facility represents a significant step forward in the use of innovative technologies to support border security and law enforcement activities.

The establishment of the Drone Laboratory was supported and implemented by the GS-Foundation in close cooperation with the Border Police. Its acknowledgement during the celebrations underlined the value of international partnerships and joint efforts in strengthening institutional capacities.
