The second Leadership Seminar for operational leaders of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) has successfully concluded in Abuja, Nigeria. From 13 to 24 July 2026, a total of 30 operational leaders of the SIS participated in the intensive two-week training programme, which ended with the official presentation of certificates by the Commander SIS.
Practical training delivered by international and Nigerian experts
The seminar was conducted by three international experts together with three Nigerian trainers, combining international best practices with local expertise. Throughout the programme, participants strengthened their knowledge and practical skills in leadership, operational planning and operational command.
The training focused on enhancing leadership competencies required for complex operational environments while encouraging the exchange of experience and practical approaches among participants.
Positive feedback from participants
The seminar received consistently positive feedback from the participating SIS leaders, who highlighted the practical relevance of the training and its direct applicability to their daily operational responsibilities.
The successful completion of the programme demonstrates the importance of continuous professional development for operational police leaders and underlines the value of international cooperation in supporting institutional capacity building.
